River of Tears, 2025

Thick and roughly textured surfaces depict weight and accumulation, while blues, greens, and ochres push against sharp reds that cut through the composition like blood flowing through veins. Pages from my case law textbooks act as a foundation, connecting the piece to my legal work and study. Fragments of symbols and words emerge and dissolve. I made this during a time when my frustration with injustice in the current political climate had become impossible to ignore. That anger shaped the color, words and marks.
