I'm a Brooklyn-based artist and attorney working from my studio in DUMBO. As a New York City native of Puerto Rican and Irish descent, my firsthand life experiences — including nearly a decade practicing law — continue to steer everything I make. My work is mixed media on large-format canvas: oil, acrylic, charcoal, ink, pastel, built over layers of case law pages, receipt paper, sticky notes, and other materials pulled from the systems I'm examining. I'm interested in how law, infrastructure, and power are experienced at a human scale. The materials aren't decorative. They're evidence.
I recently launched "Seyff," a space for local Brooklyn emerging artists to exhibit their work at no cost, subsidized by abstract painting classes I offer to corporate teams as an interactive and intimate after-hours activity. Learn more at seyff.co.
