Murder on 7th Ave, 2026
The tally marks scattered across the surface add up to 250, counting the years, grievances, and cost of freedom inside a country built on contradictions. The composition mirrors the French tricolor, not as tribute but as provocation. Lafayette's words appear in red across the white center panel: "L'insurrection est le plus saint des devoirs"—insurrection is the most sacred of duties. The flag reads as something being clutched mid-run, not displayed—carried into something, not hung above it. Lines are drawn in the sand, literally and figuratively, forcing us to choose a side.
