Greenpoint, 2025

I grew up memorizing maps of different neighborhoods and areas, a childhood fascination. Here, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, lies beneath with hints of the area appearing throughout, including my elementary school, P.S. 110, peeking through in pink. Acid greens and yellows push against the warmth of the magenta and crimson.

Street language asserts itself over the legal language embedded beneath, combining childhood memories with current reality. A portion of the thick green line traces the BQE. Case law pages anchor the piece, and receipt paper reappears. Greenpoint is a neighborhood caught between what it was and what it's becoming.

Oil, acrylic, charcoal, receipt paper, sticky notes, caselaw, ink, and pastel on canvas
