Derailed, 2024
The two figures in this piece don’t stand apart from the infrastructure but rather emerge from it. The teal ground pooling at the bottom started as containment but later overflowed. I let it move past its intended boundary because that felt more authentic. Red and yellow lines trace routes taken and detours imposed. I was thinking about the distance between where people intend to go and where the city allows them to arrive, and how that distance, over a lifetime, becomes its own landscape.
